Our
first club-40 pylon Race was a success !!! What a great time we had.
The
weather cooperated and the sun was out!! If you missed it you missed
some
exciting racing!
Thanks
to all that participated in the event and a special thanks to the
volunteers
that helped as starter and cut judges.
Had to talk some into it but we couldn't have done it without you.
Thanks
again!
The
six from our club were Marty Wittman , Wayne Wahrmund, Craig Canaday,
Jim
Corbertt, Marc Winz, and Alan Wellentin.
We also had fliers from The Bend club (BAM) Waldemar Frank, Tony Bass and one from up in McMinnville
Aircraft Modelers. Eric Suing.
What
we did for the main was take the top four in points and raced them
together for
bragging rights for the days events. They were Marty, Waldemar, Creag
and Alan(Yep four up). Alan had trouble
getting
started but was soon to catchup. Now
there is a lot more action with four planes in the air and there was a
lot of
action going on. Marty and Wademar battled all the was to the finish!! With Waldemar coming in just in front of
Marty. (That’s the second time Waldemar beat Marty buy a nose!) Marty
you are
guna have to work on that!
We
had nine fliers in all with three plane heats and four rounds and two
main
heats. That means a lot of racing going on!! Those that missed it
missed some
exciting racing. What fun we had. There were some close flying and some
bumping
going on (witch make for exciting racing) but no one lost a plane.
The
logistics of setting up a race can be confusing with who races against
who and
in what order. Frequency conflicts, timing, counting laps (10) and who
was
first, second or third? Well that was taking care of by Marc Winz. Marc
is the
kind of guy that likes to make things easier. So he put together a
system that
counted laps, counts cuts and recorded times. Also he had a program
that set up
the matrix for each round and who flew in what lane. The program also
took care
of radio frequency conflicts, by not putting two frequency in the same
heat. Marc, You done good.
See
all of you at the next Club Sponsored Club-40 race.
