Well everything went smooth! The GP 61 gave me zero trouble, soon as she was primed, she fired right up, didnt even need to choke it (had to be there) But yeah, hassle free starting and runs awesome.
First flight was short, about 3 minutes. Enough to trim it out, check the control rates out, and balance/thrust., and get back down.
I keep first flights on anything very short. I only want to trim and get as much a feel as I can for balance and thrust and tracking, etc, and land. Then go over everything to verify bolts/nuts/hardware components etc are holding up and secure. Confidence builder flight, I guess.
So second flight went great too. Got another maybe 6-8 minutes in, went though a few light maneuvers. All excellent so far. I think she flies better than originally, and I was really impressed with it before. She does the crispest vertical up line snap rolls I have ever had in a plane for sure, and stops almost quicker than you can get your thumbs to center.
The only thing that didnt go well all in all is my pilot's head came loose.. I was fortunate to notice it before the 2nd flight after I started the motor. I had to remove the canopy and pull the head completly off real fast.. It happened once before, and I found it in the tail of the plane.
