Well everything went smooth! The GP 61 gave me zero trouble, soon as she was primed, she fired right up, didnt even need to choke it (had to be there) But yeah, hassle free starting and runs awesome.

First flight was short, about 3 minutes. Enough to trim it out, check the control rates out, and balance/thrust., and get back down.
I keep first flights on anything very short. I only want to trim and get as much a feel as I can for balance and thrust and tracking, etc, and land. Then go over everything to verify bolts/nuts/hardware components etc are holding up and secure. Confidence builder flight, I guess.

So second flight went great too. Got another maybe 6-8 minutes in, went though a few light maneuvers. All excellent so far. I think she flies better than originally, and I was really impressed with it before. She does the crispest vertical up line snap rolls I have ever had in a plane for sure, and stops almost quicker than you can get your thumbs to center.

The only thing that didnt go well all in all is my pilot's head came loose.. I was fortunate to notice it before the 2nd flight after I started the motor. I had to remove the canopy and pull the head completly off real fast.. It happened once before, and I found it in the tail of the plane.

It took nearly 3 weeks to ship Lipo batteries. I was not aware until after I placed the order that there are only a couple carriers that will even ship them.

So I have completed the battery tray, have finished the engine bay, fuel system is installed and the rudder tray is done. I am pretty much down to the final install of things with loctite, securing wires and securing a few other little things, and a final balance :dance:

I am really anticipating to have this wrapped up this week, and with any luck, the maiden flight by this coming weekend :handgestures-thumbupleft:

So here's a few of the latest progress shots';

Finally got some more UntraCote in yesterday at Eugene Toy, so I am ready to get the fuse ironed out shortly. :handgestures-thumbupleft: I grabbed the last roll of Yellow from them last week, got home and realized it was Cub Yellow, not Dark Yellow.. otherwise, I would have had the fuse covered I imagine by now.. oh well!

I should be able to get the rest covered throughout the weekend though. Getting close!
