To upload a picture from your computer:
*this is described as if you are on a reply or creation of a topic page. standard reading only pages do not have options i describe below*

Under the text box area, there's a few options. Can click the 'Upload Attachment" tab, and you will get a browse option.
Click the 'Browse' button and locate the picture file on your computer, and select it.
Once you have selected your image or opened it through the selection pop up, Click on the 'Add the File' button.
*the screen shoud quickly refresh.
You now have it ready to place in your text box area.

Once you have your images uploaded, you can now choose where to place them within the text box area.

So, If I want the picture to be right under this line of text, I hit the return key and then click the 'Place inline' button below.

You would see a line auto placed when you hit the button that is enclosed with the tags {attachment} imageID [/attachment}.
And there we would have it placed. It may take a few times :)

You do not have to use the 'place inline' button. If you upload your images, write some text and hit submit message, your images will be placed in line after the written text.

An idea for anyone that needs these instructions, just open a new browser (or tab) and direct yourself to the forum thread you would like to create a picture in, leaving this still open to use as a little guide.

It will be fast and simple once done a time or two. ;)

Alternatively, if you want to add an image that is hosted off another website, you can use the tags above the text box. ie, the bold or italic button option bar*

Click the button above the text box 'Img' and you will get code blocks {img} {/img} to appear. The cursor will be auto placed between them, and you would simply enter the full URL address of the image, including the http : //

example:
{Img}http : // someonesWebsite . com /ImageName .jpg {/Img}

Of course there are spaces in that so its more clear to make out.. this may not be the really best method to use, because the image will be displayed in its full size rather than a thumbnail (when very large it can distort the forums), and the image may disappear at any point. Either from websites that disappear, or the website gets revised and url's change.

Larger images done the same way as first described, and should resize to a thumbnail.

There is also a comment box below, where you select placing the image. You can add any text there as well that will be tagged with the image when its placed.

Here is Roger at the club meeting with one of his latest projects finished up!

That comment in italic was written with the image attatchment comment option.

Thanks for the help JR! This will make things more interesting. I should be able to save a thousand words with one pic!

Eventually, I'll try to have the images come up in a slide view rather than having to click 'back' on the browser each picture you look at. yeeeaap 8-)

Okay guys, I thought this was going to be more involving, but turned out fairly painless.

Images that you add to your posts will now be viewed with a pop up slide show, rather than showing one image full screen, and having to click back to look at the next.

Everything is done in the same way as I described above.
Let me add as well, than you do not have to actually place your image as I mentioned with the 'Add Inline' button unless you want the image to be placed in a specific area within your text/dialog that you are writing along with the images. If you dont place them with the 'add inline' button, they will just be placed after your writen text one after the next.

Here is an example. I am just browsing as I described above to add my image(s) and when done, as long as there is at least one word of text in the text box, it will auto attach them in the post.
