Wenatchee pattern

Well, Memorial day weekend brought the pattern season opener in Wenatchee washington. My daughters and I left about 6:00A.M. Friday morning and arrived about 7 hours later. Set up camp got in a couple of practice flights with my Vanquish then settled in for the night. Met a couple of guys that fly for the Canadian worlds team and a couple of guys out of Utah are also ranked quite high in the world. Great guys that really know how to fly precision. Saturday morning came and I got in a couple of wake up flights and then about 0900, I was the first to fly in front of the judges. Put in a pretty good flight but ended up breaking the landing gear plate out of my model. Not good. I figured I was grounded for the weekend but within about 15 minutes, I had 5 offers from guys saying I could fly their plane for the weekend, some of whom I was flying against. I ended up flying Jim Hillers Option 160, it's a 2 meter plane that Jim designed with roots way back in the early 90's. This one has an OS 160 two stroke. Jim's set up is pretty much identical to mine, so the model felt quite familiar, even though I had only flown it once and that was almost a year ago. The weather held for us with only a light sprinkle late Sunday morning. The scores listed below are "normalized". 1st place gets 1000 points and the subsequent placements get a number that represents their score as a percentage of 1st place. If 1st place scored 800 points in their flight and 2nd place scored 700 points in their flight, 1st would receive 1000 points and 2nd receives 875.
