What, everyone got stuck at home on Easter? Didnt see any activity reports for Sunday at the field
I ended up going back up north to fly with my old friend Jeff Carder and his Dad. We grew up flying together from darn near grade school, and started flying pattern together by about 12 years old. Hadnt seen him since about after high school.. He went off to college, then to the Air Force where he flew F-16's, and now is a Top Gun instructor
I couldnt pass up the opportunity to spend the weekend flying together, and catch up a little on life.
I visited the Dusters RC Club field Sunday afternoon also, and it is as beautiful as described. Met a few of the club members there, and definitely some nice, welcoming guys you would expect to meet being fellow RC enthusiasts. One thing I noticed, The guys that were out there were pretty serious about their planes, as they all seemed to be magazine quality builds! Very experienced people there!
If anyone is in the area, I would definitely recommend to swing in and have a visit!
We flew again at a private field that is roughly 2500' double stripped runway. Meaning it has an incoming and outgoing runway, for full scale side by side. We had a couple Ultra Light planes land and hang out for a bit to watch us fly, and a couple other planes just drop in for a landing and take off. And to top it off, some pilot in what seemed to be a hack home built Extra style plane (just smaller) doing some pretty wild arobatics giving us a little show.
To sum it all up, I am jealous of the land owner, and might just have to get lost in the area and stop to ask for directions with my plane at that field once in awhile!
